Now that the spoiler warning is taken care of let's get on to my theory.
I believe that Rose Quartz was not the one to shatter Pink Diamond. After watching the episode, The Trial, I believe it was actually Yellow Diamond that shattered her. There are a lot of signs that point to my theory (at I think so ) During the episode you have Blue Zircon who is defending Steven.
